Portion size of baby back ribs could have been a little bigger but they did taste good. The greens were too sweet and the fried okra was good.

Old is fine but you can't be dirty. Servers were friendly. Chicken salad had so much mayonnaise that I couldn't eat it and all she asked was did I want a box...SMH 🙄

After dealing with some confusing info on operating hours on Sunday, we found out they were open! Super polite and tasty eats on our way to Atlanta. Started out with maxed-out fries, and got the 1\2 chicken plate, chicken & dumplings, and a 2 meat combo with St. Louis ribs and brisket. Enjoyed everything! The sides were fantastic, though. Black-eyed peas, mac'n cheese, sweet potato souffle, broccoli and cheese casserole and fried okra. Loved them ALL. Be sure to check the specials on the way in the door! Nomnomnoms = 5/5.

Loved this place!!! Super friendly people that obviously take pride in what they do and want to make a great experience for everyone. I enjoyed everything, but especially loved the fried green tomatoes and cubed steak. The breading was delishious and crunchy. We even bought some baked goods on the way out that topped off our meal perfectly! Thanks for the great food and even better hospitality! We can't wait to stop in again!

The Texas Burger was great! Great atmosphere and service. I recommend.

A small town BBQ place with a home town vibe. The service was fast and the food was excellent. The staff are taking Covid precautions and wearing masks as well as blocking every other booth or table for safety. Will look forward to future visits.

Really enjoyed my BBQ Pork dinner with Baked Beans, Green Beans and my choice of Texas Toast, Cornbread, or white bread! There were so many delicious looking choices, including Ribs, Pork Chops, Brisket, Chicken Fingers and more. For sides they offered French Fries, Fried Okra, Squash and Onions, and more. There were a 9-layer Caramel, Chocolate, and Strawberry cakes to choose from. We were driving through and I am looking forward to stopping there on our way back home!

We found JoMax on a list of the best BBQ in Georgia so we had high expectations going in. I was pleasantly surprised how much we liked this location, the people and the food here. Now I know why it made the short-list. The lodge-like setting is warm and inviting, sitting next to a pond and featuring a fireplace and large seating area. The food was excellent. We had ribs that we meaty and moist, chopped pork and chicken. The chicken was a little on the dry side inside, but the sauce and spice really made up for it. I enjoyed the Brunswick Stew and Mac and Cheese as sides. Overall a good experience and a good stopping point along the way from Atlanta to Savannah.
